- Sanctification
In the triune God who is God, the Eternal Father, his Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Each operates as one and operates divinely and with omnipotence, omnipresence, and omniscience.
That the Bible is the inerrant word of God. Reading it regularly will change hearts. There is no other work that can do this.
That there is no other name or power in this world above Jesus Christ. That He came to the earth as man and suffered on the cross for the sins of all mankind – He is the complete Redeemer. The devil and his demons shake at the sound of His name and must surrender.
In the full operation of the Church and gifts of Believers as outlined in the New Testament including the baptism of the Holy Spirit, gift of tongues, interpretation of tongues, of prophecy, of words of knowledge, , and discerning of spirits. That there is no spiritual elitism in the KIngdom of God. We believe everyone has been given a “talent” to magnify on the earth and should pray for God to reveal it.
That Jesus will one day return to the earth and claim His Kingdom.
That while we live on this earth awaiting Christ’s return, we should live life fully and abundantly and abide in His presence and peace. While we can never work for our salvation, we can seek sanctification in areas of our lives and earn greater reward as in the parable of the sower.
That mankind will be judged according to his acceptance of Christ as personal Savior. That there is heaven or hell based upon that decision. Those who go to heaven will live in eternal peace with God. Those who go to hell will suffer eternally.
That God speaks to mankind today through His “rhema” word. That word must always align with the Bible. As did Solomon, we seek discernment to walk in the correct ways and to avoid pitfalls and destructive decisions. For this reason, we encourage all to seek an abundance of counselors (Proverbs 11:14) to discuss and confirm important prophecy received.
that serving our fellow man is part of the gospel and the Great Commission.
The gift of healing. Jesus healed everyone and said we would do greater things. Our own choices, lack of forgiveness, bitterness, delaying promptings for good health, etc. can impact our healing. (John 14:12)
We live in a fallen world. Since the Fall in the Garden of Eden, mankind has been corrupted by the lies of satan. Thus, there are situations and disasters that may not seem just but are consequences of the Fall. While God will bless us, we are still in a fallen world.
That we have divine access to God and power of prayer. That the Lord Jesus Christ Himself demonstrated the order of prayer and that He listens and answers. If we pray with an idol in our hearts, those answers will be in that bias according to Ezekiel 14.
God is a just and merciful God.
Angels are separate creations for God’s purposes. The Bible identifies them as ministering angels and has used them in spiritual and physical warfare, messengers, and guardians to humans. The Bible is full of examples, with over 360 verses, of angelic interaction, intervention, and support of mankind. We believe angels are here to help us and it is up to us to seek their help through our prayers to God.
God speaks to us in dreams. (Song of Solomon 5:2) Some of the most significant events in the Bible included dreams. We believe that God still wants to talk to us in our dreams and pray for Him to do so. We record them and seek the Holy Spirit for their interpretation.
Sanctification is an act of separation from that which is evil, and of dedication unto God (Romans 12:1-2, Hebrews 13:12, I Thessalonians 5:23). The Scriptures teach a life of “holiness without which no man shall see the Lord.” (Hebrews 12:14) By the power of the Holy Ghost we are able to obey the command: “Be ye holy, for I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:15-16)
Sanctification is realized in the believer by recognizing his identification with Christ in His death and resurrection, and by faith reckoning daily upon the fact of that union, and by offering every faculty continually to be under the dominion of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 6:1-11, 13; 8:1-2, 13; 1 Peter 1:5, Galatians 2:20; Philippians 2:12-13)
One aspect of holiness is not doing what is evil. (Galatians 5:19-21, I Corinthians 6:9-11)
Another aspect of holiness is seeing all human life as sacred and created by God in His image. The ramification of this truth is lived out in the following ways at King’s Cathedral and Chapels.
Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage of condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect and value all human life. (Psalm 139)
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. (Genesis 1:26-27) Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.
We believe the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. (Genesis 2:18-25) We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other. (1 Corinthians 6:18, 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4) We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.
We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, beastiality, incest, and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God. (Matthew 15:18-20; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; I Timothy 1:9-11)
We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of King’s Cathedral & Chapels as the local Body of Christ, and to provide a Biblical role model to the King’s Cathedral & Chapels members and the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by King’s Cathedral & Chapels in any capacity, or who are formal members must hold to the Biblical standard of holiness.
